Telegram Premium Bot: What the Paid Plans Add Over Free

A "Telegram premium bot" here means the paid tiers of Telegram Bot App, not a bot for Telegram's own Premium subscription. The core moderation runs free for every group, and premium plans add capacity and a few advanced detections on top: higher monthly quotas for the AI features that cost real processing (NSFW image scanning and sentiment analysis), extra media analysis, spoofed-content detection on the higher tiers, lower overage rates, and faster support. This guide explains exactly what changes when you upgrade, so you can tell whether premium is worth it for your group. To actually buy a plan, see the purchasing premium guide; to change or monitor one, see managing your subscriptions.

First, what stays free

Upgrading does not unlock basic protection, because the basic protection is already free. Every group gets, at no cost:

  • Both anti-spam layers: AI Spam Intelligence (auto-kick at a 0.75 risk score) and Spamfinder (content scoring on a threshold you set).
  • CAPTCHA verification at the join.
  • Custom badwords, language enforcement across roughly 33 to 43 languages, and media restrictions.
  • Profile scanning, invite-link and malicious-URL blocking, welcome messages and rules.
  • Flood and raid protection, and the web dashboard with analytics and a live feed.

The free tier also includes a monthly allowance of 500 image scans and 1,000 sentiment analyses. For many groups that covers normal activity, so free is a complete moderation setup rather than a limited trial. What premium buys is volume and a few advanced checks, not the difference between protected and unprotected.

What premium adds

Premium is metered because two of the checks, image scanning and sentiment analysis, run expensive AI models per item. The paid tiers raise how many of those you get each month and add capacity-related features:

  • Higher image-scan and sentiment quotas (the numbers per tier are below).
  • Sentiment and toxicity depth: scoring for toxicity, profanity, insults, and threats, each with its own threshold.
  • Extra media analysis: GIF and sticker scanning alongside photos and profile pictures.
  • Spoofed-content detection on Platinum and Ultimate, to catch images altered to slip past detection.
  • Lower overage rates and faster support response as you move up the tiers.

None of this replaces the free core. It sits on top of it.

The plans at a glance

Plan Price Image scans / month Sentiment analyses / month
Basic Free 500 1,000
Gold $4.99/month 2,000 5,000
Platinum $9.99/month 5,000 15,000
Ultimate $49.99/month 10,000 30,000

Gold adds the advanced AI spam detection, toxicity and profanity filtering, custom badwords, GIF and sticker analysis, and the analytics dashboards, with priority email support. Platinum adds spoofed-content detection and a 15% discount on any overage. Ultimate adds the largest quotas, a 25% overage discount, and the fastest support. Annual billing is about 20% cheaper on any plan.

How overage works

Quotas reset each billing cycle and do not roll over. If you go past your monthly allowance, extra usage is billed at $0.00075 per unit (one image scan or one sentiment analysis). Platinum takes 15% off that rate ($0.0006375 per unit) and Ultimate takes 25% off ($0.0005625 per unit). Features that do not consume quota, such as spam detection, CAPTCHA, and media restrictions, keep running regardless of quota. The dashboard warns you as you approach the limit, so overage is a deliberate choice rather than a surprise.

Which plan fits your group

The right tier follows from how much image and sentiment volume your group generates, not from member count alone:

  • Stay on free if your group is small or shares few images, and the 500-scan and 1,000-analysis allowances cover a normal month. Many groups never need more.
  • Gold suits an active small-to-medium group that wants the advanced spam and toxicity detection and a few thousand scans a month.
  • Platinum fits a larger or busier community that also wants spoofed-content detection and a cushion of higher quotas.
  • Ultimate is for very high-volume communities or networks of groups that need the largest quotas and fastest support.

A practical way to size it: count how many images your group shares on a typical day, multiply by thirty, and pick the tier whose image quota comfortably covers that. One subscription's quotas pool across all the groups you manage, so you do not buy a separate plan per group. Sizing in detail is covered in the managing subscriptions guide.

Is a premium bot necessary?

Not for every group. Because the two spam layers, CAPTCHA, badwords, language enforcement, flood and raid protection, and the dashboard are all free, a group can run a complete moderation setup without paying. Premium becomes worthwhile when your image or sentiment volume exceeds the free allowance, or when you specifically want the deeper toxicity detection and spoofed-content checks. If you are still deciding which bot to run at all, the best Telegram bot guide walks through the criteria first.

Frequently asked questions

What is a Telegram premium bot?

In this product it means the paid plans of Telegram Bot App: Gold, Platinum, and Ultimate. They add higher monthly quotas for the AI-powered checks (image NSFW scanning and sentiment analysis), extra media analysis, spoofed-content detection on the higher tiers, lower overage rates, and faster support, on top of the free core moderation. It is not related to Telegram's own Premium subscription for users.

What do I get on premium that I do not get free?

Mainly capacity. Free already includes both spam layers, CAPTCHA, badwords, language enforcement, media restrictions, flood and raid protection, and the dashboard, plus 500 image scans and 1,000 sentiment analyses a month. Premium raises those quotas (up to 10,000 image scans and 30,000 sentiment analyses on Ultimate), adds toxicity and spoofed-content detection depth, and lowers overage rates. Core moderation is identical on every tier.

How much does the premium bot cost?

Gold is $4.99/month, Platinum $9.99/month, and Ultimate $49.99/month, with annual billing about 20% cheaper. If you exceed your monthly quota, extra usage is $0.00075 per unit, discounted 15% on Platinum and 25% on Ultimate. The purchasing premium guide covers checkout and payment methods.

Do premium quotas roll over or reset?

They reset at the start of each billing cycle and do not roll over. If you use 1,500 of a 2,000-scan Gold quota, the unused 500 do not carry to next month. If you regularly finish well under your quota, a lower tier may be better value; if you regularly exceed it, upgrading usually beats paying overage.

Can one premium plan cover several groups?

Yes. A single subscription's quotas pool across every group you manage, and the dashboard shows per-group usage so you can see which communities consume the most. You do not need a separate plan for each group, though a very active group can use most of a shared quota on its own.
